How do you practice your elevator pitch?
We wrote up some of our experiences with the Starbuck Pitch here. Pitching to unknown and previously uninterested people was a challenging, but very rewarding experience. The day was cut a bit short, but I'm looking forward to going out again very soon and further honing the presentation.
What techniques are you using to practice your pitch? Do you use a mirror, friends, family, business partners? What tips do you have about the best practices?
Why not focus specifically on prospects for your service instead of a random cross section of humanity?
Actually, for us each actual prospective user is very valuable. It's nice to have a few practice runs just to polish your pitch. In fact, we'll be going to a meetup with a number of prospects, and The Starbucks Pitch was in preparation for that.
So good point about not getting too hung up over the Starbucks audience - always remember you're just there to perfect your presentation for when it really matters.
